I never know what to say on this “About” page. I like to read other blogs “About” pages, but those people always seem more interesting. I don’t know that my blog even really has a point.

At any rate, I’m Mary. I grew up an only child in Denver, Colorado. I was painfully shy, had imaginary friends, and talked to myself. Now that I am an “adult” I am much less shy, lost the imaginary friends, but I continue to talk to myself on a daily basis. I am married to Mark and we have 6 children (yes, I am overcompensating for my invisible friend filled childhood…although, it turns out imaginary people are much more cooperative than real people. Lesson learned.)

There is a sock on the bookshelf, and I see three possible barefooted culprits.

I have big hair (hence the very thought provoking blog title)…well, actually, it’s much smaller now when using the proper amount of gelatinous product. BUT! There was a long stretch of time (my entire childhood and adolescence) when the locks had free rein. It was a great conversation starter….but then again, I was shy, so…..

I used a banana clip in my hair. I didn’t want any hair hanging down covering up that beautiful vest.

Everyone seems to write about what they enjoy on these “About” pages so…….I  enjoy spending my days wandering aimlessly throughout my house thinking about all the things I should be doing. I like trying free youtube workout videos that do NOT include Zumba, but if I don’t have time for that, fighting a willful child into a car seat is sufficient. I enjoy being inside, being outside, eating my feelings, watching funny TV (not scary TV), and writing occasional directionless blog posts.

I stay home with the children. I feed them, clean up the kitchen, repeat that process two more times, and then tuck them into bed. Its a pretty technical job.

  1. I think it is important to note the picture frames in the background that have been hanging for a year (two years?) with no pictures in them. They are what I like to call “a conversation piece.”

    • Ha! If wordpress recorded the time you made this comment correctly, I was, at that same time, explaining to some new guests (who had never been to my house before) that those frames have been empty for almost 2 years now. I also told them that you keep close tabs on it. Procrastination at its finest. It almost seems a shame to break the record now. I also feel that when I do fill the frames, it can’t be with just any old picture. Its going to be something great! Mark my words.

  2. I happened upon your blog via 7qt and after laughing my way through some of your archives decided that I am going to spend my Sunday doing more of the same. 🙂
